Body Composition Calculators

Look beyond one scale reading. Compare weight with height, estimate body fat from measurements, and understand how lean mass and waist size add context.

Make sense of your results

Each measure answers a different question. BMI relates weight to height, waist-to-height ratio describes central size, and circumference equations estimate body fat. None can diagnose health or determine a personally ideal body size. Consistent measurement technique matters more than extra decimal places.

Frequently asked questions

Which measure tells me my body fat percentage?+

The body fat calculator uses a circumference equation. BMI and waist-to-height ratio do not directly calculate body fat percentage.

Can these tools measure muscle mass?+

No. Lean body mass includes water, bone, organs, and muscle. FFMI adjusts estimated fat-free mass for height; neither isolates skeletal muscle.

Do these reference ranges apply to children?+

No. Children and teens need age- and sex-specific assessment. The adult tools also need extra clinical context during pregnancy and for some medical conditions.
